Cup/League Mode Controls - Local Multiplayer in PES 2021

Hi all,
I tried to setup a local multiplayer for a Champions League using multpile controllers connected to my PC.
It seems that only one controller can control the game in the menus. Even when it's the next players turn. So I have to hand over my controller letting the other players set up their teams? Am I missing something here or is this actually the way it's done in PES? No automatic controller switch to the player who is next?
