Just played it to see the comparison. And pes1 is still a heck of a good game! The game seemed to flow better probably because less stuff happening (frame rate much quicker). Passes seem to bounce more and the overarm throw was in there. I played a game and thought this isnt that much worse than pes4 (in the back of my mind i was enjoying it more) then i popped in pes4 again, but then i realised the game was much better but it was certainely interesting seeing them!
 
I also played a game of PES1 the other day, let's just say I had no interest in playing another game. It's probably because I'm so used to the new games that I can't do a lot of stuff I do on those, little tricks and dribbling for example. The graphics are rubbish though, it almost looks like a PSX game.
