Sony PlayStation 4

Finally got hands on with the DS4 yesterday. Love it. Huge improvement over the DS3. Hopefully Sony can do something about the battery life.

So how does this SSHD work? Like as fast as SSD? In between SSD and HDD?

The latter, the more you use files the faster it'll be, obviously isn't as fast as an SSD but the price to gb ratio is much better.

There are a couple of benchmarks for the PS4 comparing HDD/SSHD/SSD

The results are a little confusing but at the end of the day, it's not going to be slower than stock, and the benchmarks are comparing drives running at 5,400RPM, the one I'm planning to use is 7,200RPM so that alone should be an improvement.

Seems much simpler and invuative than what I saw of the Xbox one where you have to call out very specific full name commands.

Agreed. Been watching some Xbone vids over at Giantbomb and the voice controls seem like a complete mess right now. The UI doesn't seem too slick either.

Can't wait until Friday, Picking mine up then. Getting the Killzone Bundle with NBA 2k14 and FIFA 14. Still trying to decide if I want to get either battlefield or COD

Great video man thanks for this.

Really like the SSHD idea now.

For the slim 5,400 SSHD drives there's a few options, unfortunately there's no slim 2tb version so it might be worth holding off until I've tested my crazy method ;) Although of course I still don't know when I'm getting my console, damn Amazon! :)

I should hopefully be picking on up on friday (not pre-ordered but there is a store that will have them (NL btw)), although sadly I won't be able to play it as I have work commitments at the weekend :(

Will definitely be getting FIFA, not sure what else tbh. Not going to bother with PS+ so BF4 seems a bit pointless with the short SP campaign. Couldn't get into KZ3, so don't see the point of 4 either. Uh, what else is there? AC looks good, might go for that.
