Picking a team isnt necessary right now, Rex. Just watch the teams each week and the weekly highlights show and players you like will pop out at you, as will teams that you like to watch.
I became a Liverpool fan because of Steven Gerrard, Owen and Didi Hamann. I also watch Fulham games for Bocanegra and McBride and ManCity for Reyna, but at the end of the day, when i first heard the Liverpool faithful belt out You'll Never Walk Alone, i was pretty much baptised and initiated.
Take your time pickin' your team. here's a rundown of some teams -
Chelski - rich, powerful and unlimited pockets. The new Yankees of footy. LOve to hate them but they also have 4 of my fave players (Duff, Lampard, Terry and now Shawn Wright Phillips).
ManU - Glazer is one more reason to hate them.. or pity them. . but then again, they have Tim Howard as backup goalie, and the talented Chicagoan Johanthan Spector. He's only 20 and has been loaned to Charlton this season. With C. Ronaldo and Rooney playing alongsied the likes of KEane, Giggs and Scholes, they are a sight to behold.
Arsenal - fluidity and ferocity in motion. Even if you hate them, you have to get a hard on when they are on their best form. henry is like a friggin magician and ballerina. . with a gun.
LIverpool - the Steelers of the EPL. Diehard, blue collar fans. More defense than offensive flash, and alott grit and history
Tottenham - watch out. They have got talent in every third of the field and are gunning for a top 4 finish this year to book their ticket to the Champions League next year. Defoe, Mido, Kanoute and Robbie KEane are a fun group of strikers to watch. Great goalis and great young defender in Ledley King.
MIddlesbro - up n comin' and at the same level as Tottenham. Got young Brit Downing on the wing and a solid strikeforce with nice midfield, too.
Newcastle - hard not to cheer for them when the legend Shearer is playing. He is amazing. End of story. They also have young and gifted players like Kieron Dyer and Jermaine Jenas. Shay Given may be the best keeper in the league.
Fulham - MCBride and Bocanegra along with talents like Boa Morte, Poppa Diop and Zat Knight. Also have a great french midfielder named Malbranque
ManCity - the best reason to watch them was Shawn Wright Phillips (SWP) who just got bought by Chelski. . will be fun to see waht they do with the bling. Reyna plays there, as does tought defender Dunne and striker Fowler. The always entertainingly hilarious goalkeeper David 'Calamity" James is the men picking the ball out of the net on many a fine occasion. always good for rising to the occasion and surprising the superpowers. the team has heart for sure and a great new manager. Looking to be on the up.
Bolton - they have the Nigerian Wizard Okocha along with a host of cast offs and elder statesmen. Its where footballers seem to go pre-retirement and who can blame them: Sam Allardyce has been great at gelling a rag tag bunch of has beens and mediocres into a team that placed 6th last year. They only look to be getting better.
Everton - dont even think of it :lmao:
Hope that helps.
