Its eyecandy for sure in places but things still look a bit odd! I have to agree its not next gen... but then again is any 360 current title next gen? not really, I dont think we will see truly next gen until late in 2006 when developers can really crack the whip on 360. This game is a bit of a dissapointment and yep its all about £££ or $$$ for EA im afraid. Nothing new here really.

I bought Fifa as much as I hate to admit it.

Whilst seriously lacking in options and what you can atually do I will say this in its defence..

IMHO its the best Fifa yet. Looks wise its ace, except plastic players and a white trezeguet (I seem to remember PES and FK having similar woe's).

The animation is excellent and I actually found it challenging. Shooting is a bit ballooney and the usual physics are demonstated for crossing. Still, with the presentation and the game's looks its worth a punt, maybe second hand or rental is the best way for you to go.

Bear in mind, after about 5 days I returned it due to the lack of options and mode's but thats not to say I didnt quite enjoy the multiplayer..

Well, as I said, some aspects look poor, occasionally certain players made me feel quite ill but others like Rooney I thought looked brilliant in HD.

The stadiums and grass all look nice IMHO. I dont have a problem with the way it looks, more the way it plays however I just found it more fun that any Fifa's I've played for some time and thought I'd share. I couldnt keep it due to its lack of any real competition but multiplayer was jokes while I had it.

i think it looks very good; i have the demo this morning and i'll test it on gameplay and i think it won't catch up with pes again..

It wont catch up with PES but we will have to wait and see as to what Nokami will produce with Next Gen hardware at their disposal. PS3 Spring 2006? that sounds interesting too.

Yes I was impressed with the demo probably because I was expecting so little.
...thought one of my black players was wearing a skin tight wet suit mind!

Its been given such bad ratings but ultimately it isn't THAT bad. Just lacking in most things. A full version of Fifa with leagues and cups and all that would certainly force a purchase if PES still hasn't been released by then.

I'll gladly pay for the UEFA version of the game once it comes out.

Nah you said there aren't any titles that look next gen and not likely to be any till late 2006.

To which we said, uh yes there are and yes there will be.

PGR3 and CoD2 spring to mind. Kameo is next gen in terms of graphical flair.

Gears of War looks amazing, although I fully expect us to get it mid next year, not February.

I played Fifa 2006 for 360 and it is pathetic..

The only thing I would take from the game would be the pitches and coaches/player cut-scenes.

Everything else is horse turd.

I'm sure their next game will be the same...

Still cannot beleive that after all this years and all that money, EA sports have not hired the right personnel to make a worth and playable soccer sim.

Sad, really sad.....

There are alot of good things about this game, but ultimately, IMO, its shite.

The movement of the players looks stupid, shooting is a bit random. The ball seems to float, passing is erratic, long passing is a joke.

Good things are obviously the graphics, superb. Wetting my appetite for next gen PES. Some player likenesses are awesome (Dida, Ballack). Cut scenes are very good, presentation is excellent and some animations such as tackles and shots are also very good, better than PES ones in some instances.

I'm basing this on the demo btw

I completely agree. In some area's its a damn good effort but its so poor in others that you kind of forget the good points.

Oh well, it'll only be a week or so before we see the next Fifa.

Just got the demo off marketplace and I think its really fun multiplayer but soooo boring and crap single player. Some players look really poor compared to the real thing.

Yeah I cant bare single player anymore and only play multiplayer. Pisses me off cos I loved it at first but same old Fifa shit, it gets boring in a week.

Haha thats quite weird looking at how far we've come in terms of graphics. In game graphics on the 360 literally look like FMV sequences from XBox and PS2 games
