I was thinking this was some great packaging for some PES games 😂.

Yeah. That struck me last night in bed… 😂 I was thinking of the sim racing community I drive with and they know what’s in the boxes. 😉 stupid me. sorry.

My cockpit will never be “finished”. 😊 it’s a bit like working on an Oldtimer car.
I will install a baseplate tonight. Gotta check out how comfortable it is.
need to adjust the throttle pedal strength. Need to adjust some angles. Need to fine tune the software.
 
I tried with baseplate last night… still not fully configured. But I’m getting there…

this weekend, I’ll rearrange everything from pedals over wheel to the seat.
 
I moved the screens in front of the base and lowered the height a little bit.

still I’m in the optimization process… I’m really sensible like a Monk (the series). 🤷‍♂️😂 I want all the proportions to be spot on and so on…!

What da hell is this for a cable on your Fanatec? Air pressure or what?:? I have for my Thrustmaster only an USB cable. (yea I know it is not the same like Fanatec). =)


But looking cool mate! Next step would be a goPro 4K to stream 24h races. :BOP:

Could be. But I’m really not normal. 🤪
Its a Cube Controls wheel on a Fanatec base. The cable is the usb connection for the wheel itself.
I did first POV GoPro video tests just today, pal! 😊👏
 
Finally the cockpit got a new keyboard. I was tired of having to search for keys in the dark… so I took advantage of an offer last week.
40 euro sounded fair to me. Cant wait to start using it later tonight.

this weekend I’ll be attending the sim racing expo in Nürnberg. Cant wait for this event!
I’ll check out all the bucket seats they offer and test sit a few of them. Then I’ll decide what seat to get. 🥳

I finally installed my bezel free kit. Had some plastic custom cut so I don’t have to use sticky tape or something to mount them perfectly on 32inch screens.

will adjust the ingame cockpit now and can’t wait for the first ride with a one piece windshield. 😊

Nothing special… Just some minor stuff for the nerds😊
I was testing some new pedal positions and took a video to be able to judge movement better.



you can see how the preload of the brake works and how the power is pushed into the Elastomer rubber, when the preload spring is fully compressed.

edit: oh I forgot… I build myself a keyboard tray. Much more comfy now to type stuff…



Edit2: and in preparation for the coming h-pattern shifter I attached a “middle console”.

i was lucky again to get offered a completely new Sprint clutch pedal for a used price. Saved me 40 euro. Will install later… gotta clean up the pedal tray first.

Got me an entry level H pattern/ sequential shifter from the US of A for little money.
Im super happy with the build quality. 💪

coming from my open GT style wheel, I had to go for a more round and closed one to work with the shifter. It arrived yesterday.

I just had my first drive, and it’s amazing how I need to relearn all that footwork and shifting stuff.
A huge bag of fun and stuff to learn for sure that is for me. 🥳

Hey man, I own a Q2 Headset. It’s very nice and immersive to go VR and I enjoy it here and there.
but for more comfort and longer sessions I do clearly prefer a triple setup. plus: I wouldn’t have gone with that valuable hardware if I couldn’t even see it.
 
So i sold my DD1 and got me a new base.
rebuild the cockpit last night. Needs a lot more fine tuning but I’m on my way…

Fine tuning of screens and base the coming days. Followed by weeks of fine tuning the FFB settings. 🥳

I had my first multi class event with commentary last night. It made me feel like a professional driver. I’m so thankful that the guy did this for us! 😊🥳
