Saved lineup selection and saved tactical style aren't on the beta. A very useful features.

Did SI confirm they will add some missing feature on the final release ?
 
I really don't think the "final release" will have any missing features. Only bug fixes.

Their designation of "alpha", "beta" and "release" is pretty meaningless (and if we're being really honest, deceptive).
 
I had my controller plugged in from playing FIFA and I launched FM, and it's brought up my controller layout. My god..it's actually better with a controller than a mouse and it makes you realise why the UI is like it is. It's actually gutting.
 
Had a feeling this would be the case - SortItOutSI have tweeted a few "tips" that involve using the arrow keys to switch between panels more easily (like a D-PAD)...
 
The game is just in a shocking state. The amount of bugs, tactics actually being too easy (I see most people win most matches, it seems the AI can't fully adjust to the new setup of tactics) and just the state of the UI all leads to that the game wasn't ready for release and they knew it.

All preview videos of Streamers/YouTubers where hiding bugs/not showing them, which is plain obvious when basically nearly every second action in game at the moment causes a bug to happen.

Seems also like people are refunding the game and we are speaking of the most loyal fan base who basically preorders to get early access.

Headlines like this paint an accurate picture unfortunately (link is clickable):

FRVR: Football Manager 26 lead confirms new overhaul will have issues as “you can’t expect 20 years worth of quality” in brand-new experience

But then it does beg the question, why would anybody buy it, if it's not going to be a quality product (and the thousands of reported bugs are simply proof it isn't).

I'm devastated by this release - and pissed off, frankly, at them labelling the early release as a "beta" (when it's the final version minus some fixes).
 
I have tried, really tried to learn the UI but no matter how much I try, I just do not like it. On top of that everything is so clunky and some of the design choices they have made, I just cannot understand, they have really dumbed down the experience and it is not enjoyable or have the immersion of FM24. Then there are the bugs, just so many of them. Like Chris, I am devastated by this release and annoyed. It is such a shame that they have gone down this direction, I think they will regret it.
 
The amount of bugs I'm hearing right now is worrying. I know, I know, it's only alpha/beta/sigma/delta whatever, but we're less than 2 weeks away from it's release date. It shouldn't have this many bugs.
 
Started playing the game with a controller to see what is going on.
The game is very clearly designed for being easily playable with a controller.

The UI is a complete mess and horrible to use, I am very nearly at the 2 hours play time and never thought I would say this about an FM game ever - But going to get a refund on Steam.

Also the matches are so dull and uninteresting and go on for absolutely ages - I am actually incredibly bored of the game.

The game feels so incomplete, so many bugs and everything seeming dumped down to attract new players.
I mean all the staff stats are gone and your now looking for good, very good, elite - Although it does glitch sometimes and shows elite is 20 and very good is 15.
The tactics just don't seem to be as in depth and allow you to tweak as much, it is just feels so a massive step back from FM 24.

The game needs new skins desperately it is a complete horrible mess of a game at present.

I think the main problem is the UI, it needs to be more like previous football managers especially for PC players.
It just seems that the whole UI has been designed to be easier with a controller, rather than a mouse.

I just can't get into it at the moment - It just looks so wrong.

There are very little things that annoy me too much.
Clicking continue game, used to take you through the unread email so you just needed to click that - I don't know how something so small would be such a big deal for me.
You now have to read the emails yourself using the that's right arrow keys for speed.
I have used the keyboard more on this version of FM then I ever had done.

On the one hand, the tactical system does seem great, according to a lot of the people I trust on the tactical side of things.

But I've seen teams having 30 shots per game and breaking all their real-life attacking records, week in week out (and league tables with 100+ goals scored by multiple teams).

I can deal with a horrible UI that's clearly been implemented for console users, I can forgive SI for wanting to make more money.

I can't forgive them removing pass maps etc. and matches having frankly stupid, unrealistic statistics. That's a hard no.

I've always trusted SI (with good reason) but I think they may have just broken that trust.

Okay, I have to explain:

I love the new UI. For the first time, FM has a good, practical and easy to watch UI. In previous FM it alway looked like a bad colored Excel-sheet to me. Now UI is looking more friendly and contemporar.

FM is playing fluid, and I have normal game results. The matches are looking good and are fun to watch.

It´s all a matter of taste and there is no need to be so unfriiendly and harsh to the game developers.

Nothing is personal, people are allowed to like or dislike things you like or dislike. Nobody is being toxic here, just discussing our thoughts.

I've played Football Manager (and Championship Manager before it) since day one, and loved every version, including the ones that had terrible launches (e.g. CM4).

FM24 is, in my opinion , the best manager game of all-time. So don't think people like me or @bsmaff are haters. We are the exact opposite.

FM is the only football game I buy every year because it's never disappointed, it's got more realistic and more in-depth year after year.

Suddenly, there's less depth. Demonstrably so - there's no heat maps, pass maps etc.!

(That doesn't mean you're not allowed to like it.)

I want it to be great, and I'll try it on release because it's on Game Pass - but enough people whose opinion I trust say it's not got the depth it used to have (which is a red line for me). Including the match engine:

How can you defend this, for example - when it was all part of FM24?

Until heat maps, pass maps and the above U18 functionality is back, I don't understand why I'd play it over FM24.

The dumbing down is indeed devastating. And i only play a few weeks each year because I can feel the game taking over my thoughts and life and can't really afford to let it! Feel deeply for those who can and still do commit their time to such a unique experience in gaming.

It feels even more alarming and heartbreaking because SI have felt like the last bastion of simulation-first AAA gaming for a decade or more.

I can live with them taking a year to get their house in order. But if they're wilfully knocking down their house, as Konami have done with pes, and firaxis, to a lesser extent with Civ, then that's just depressing.

It basically leaves strategy gamers with paradox and a few indie developers. Which just feels like part of a wider decay with the world.

It feels like SI are that important in terms of what their ethos will be, going forward.
