Looks much better this year but still far away from being a serious contender for 2k.

Yup, but even though they are not real competition right now. They already showed a very interesting concept of day-to-day stats last year. Players shooting performance in real life was supposed to influence player rating and tendencies.
I'm not sure how that ended up working, I've read somewhere it was not being update, but still way better concept than NBA Today and the Insider on 2K (is there still the insider? I've sort of skipped 2K14), that have some nice gimmicks, but that's all 2K seem to be updating these days, gimmicks.
And these players models of Live 15 look on par with 2K, better on something worse on others, but competition is great for us fans. EA eventually will step up to 2K.
