Russian is funny... they write Alex as Алекс but Alex Raphael as Алекса Рафаэла (Alexa Raphaela?)

Great signing from Corinthians! And here's another one:
Ronaldo (Retired) --> Corinthians (http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2889...ing-to-play-again-he-will-be-back-corinthians)
Just for fun :P

well.. not funny, becouse this is how slavic countries as far as i know say about SOMEONE that HE was transfered..

There is written that they have agreed terms with Corinthians for transfer of Alex Rafael... (this would be english) but in russian, also slovakian if you say about someone - then you give the "a"

for example in english you say..

I saw Alex Rafael

in russian/slovakian

Ja videl Alexa Rafaela

in slovakian

Ja som videl Alexa Rafaela

They said 'Alexa Raphaela', because it was written in genitive form. We, in Poland would also said: 'on nazywa się Alex Raphael' ('his name is Alex Raphael'), but 'nie ma Alexa Raphaela' ('there is no Alex Raphael') ;)
Great signing! :)

Thanks for the lessons in slavic guys! Bit like greek genitive then... I said funny but not in a demeaning way! Just that in Brazil Alexa would be the female version for Alex, same for Rafael-Rafaela, Daniel-Daniela and so on... It's the most common joke when you're a kid, to start calling another boy his "female" name.

I love learning languages, wish could have more time to do it. Cheers. :)

yeah i know..it might have appeared strainge in the article :)

our languages are waaaay more difficult to learn than for example english, spanish or portugal i think..
