PES 2014 Appreciation Thread

So I decided to download this game on my xbox 360 [I usually play it on my pc] and I was surprised by how good it looks on that console too. The fact that Konami downgraded PES 2015 and later games on x360 and pc was such a disservice to these platforms.

it takes a lot of practice and getting used to defend in this game, its hard to explain, timing is key i guess.
Had the same problem too
 
I've tried two patches: Fire Patch and PES GALAXY. My PES 2014 is not original and can't open the game with patches. The cracked version PES 2014 with patches has worked for someone?

In case Windows Defender has any issues with the files, just ignore it. It should be a false positive. (I've had the file for many years and no issues).

Does it actually work? Defenders still catch up with my players, as I said before in my previous comment, when I give through balls that should be very easy. I use the catch-up bug fixed exe.

Catch up bug deffo works, to me its getting easier to win on SS than i thought
 
It's really annoying that I can't use FileLoader with the skidrow version of PES 2014. I can't find the 3DM version anywhere.

By today's standard would be called "scripting" (even back then some people already called it, lol ). I like the one that one guy here call it as "bad programming" instead. Fox engine was new back then, it's still raw. Apart from its AI & the ref, this game is freakin 💩 to control. It's total crap. in 15 things got a bit better & since 16 well it miles ahead to control but 16 GK is shite.

Anyway here's the file you're looking for, attached the files into split files, use google how to extract them.

you need dlcs from my previous post.

Hmm, the crack works, Fire Patch also works with it. The game version is 1.16 and data pack 7.00. But for some odd reason File Loader (which I got from your other reply to me) still refuses to do anything lol. I can start the config, change what I want, but when I launch the game, there's nothing different. It's the same as it was. Very weird.
 
I think it's because the last file loader is not officially support patch 1.16, im not so sure though 🤔
 
The funniest part is that now I can use PesGalaxy patch and it's working, I can even launch it from the PESGalaxySwitch.exe. But File Loader still doesn't do anything :DOH:
 
After even more fiddling around, I got FileLoader to recognize the game. I changed the resolution through it, to be able to test immediately if it works. When I launch the game, it refits to the new resolution so I know it works, but then it just closes itself. Solve one thing, another problem pops up.
 
Sorry for the spam, but somehow and I have no idea how, I've got it all working together. I wish I knew what I did, but now PESGalaxy and FileLoader both work together. No errors or anything. If there is enough demand, I may try to compress my PES 2014 folder and upload it if it's of some use.
 
Well I'm back again, with a new problem. The game keeps crashing while I'm in the Game Plan menu, in master league. Has anyone experienced this? I found nothing online. Playing with PesGalaxy patch. It just exits the game with no errors or anything.

Edit: Still crashing :(. Only in the gameplan menu, I don't understand why. I've tried everything I could think of and nothing helps :/

Does anyone have any patch that works with the original retail version without any updates installed? The cloth physics got broken with later updates, so I prefer playing on the first release build. But I can't find any patch that works with it.

Game's great with the input lag from fileloader, but has some serious problem of scripting sometimes. After certain minutes, COM always manages to do some crazy play and scores. Getting a foul and scoring it, a crazy center, some unexpected pass... Always ends up happening something, and you get scored. Once it was a stupid penalty. Was really annoying.

Also passing is a bit too precise at times, even when I have pass assist supposedly off both in game and fileloader. And I won't speak about AI... They make also some crazy passes. Anyways, need to try agains a team maybe less focused on counters maybe, but seems that countering is quite effective. Maybe not as much as FIFA cause here defenders seem to understand how off-site works and won't retreat jockeying when the ball is on the sides, passing their horizontal position, but still, at times they seem a bit silly. The fact you can't change with right stick your selected player doesn't help either.

Anybody knows what happened to Jenkey? I'd like to start modding PES 2014, since player control is now good between the no catch-up bug + no input lag plugin from fileloader, but the problem I have now is that there's still tons of scripting by the AI, with the ability of doing crazy shots into the goal. Honestly, I need a bit more of difficulty adjusting cause COM seems to react perfectly to what I do, at least in derby.

This is the kind of game that would be great to reverse engeneering and get the code, if there was such a way to do so, cause IMHO this, along with certain other things that could be added, could be revolutionary in football games. I'd only wish we could do such a thing a build our custom PES 2014 and do what Konami didn't dare to do, that is build over this great base. Yes PES 2021 has a lot of the concepts seen in PES 2014, as it had eFootball 0.9, but for any reason, they never dared to follow the path of simulation.

If you ask me, PES 2014, modded PES 2021 and eFootball 0.9 are probably the best games in terms of physics base for a game, but they still need a lot of polishment, simply because Konami has probably some of the worst AI development ever seen in a football game and they have to solve it with absurd amounts of scripting. Really a pitty.

AI is quite scripted, in fact, with some shoots that are freakingly well placed, even when shooting back to the goal. Also fouls are most of times very well placed. Ball physics are quite good, but shooting is maybe too much powerful. I might try to tone it down with FileLoader.

I mean, even in this same thread you've got links to the evo-web fileloader thread... Is just looking a bit for it.

Anyways, not sure if evo-web thread has the last version, that is 1.0.2.9 for DLC 7.0 and version 1.16

I recommend all of you give a try to this + the no catch up bug exe. In my case, sometimes the famous 0xc0000142 will appear, but usually I can get through it by just trying a second time so...
 
The catch up bug tool is great, but my only thing with that tool is that it makes the game pretty easy.
I usually don't play on SS difficultly (TP is my sweet spot) but I'm winning games way to easy with it installed, CPU backs off a lot etc.
Think I'll do a re install without it to keep the game a bit more challenging.
Though, a very good game this
