ive looked everywhere and nobody seemed to have the same problem as i do,

basically i test the connection, and it is successful, however when i connect, it flashes on the screen 'testing network envirronment' and then nothing happesn,


please help as im desperate to play online

I am the same with you i cant get online did you get a reply yet?
 
More than likely a problem with your router/firewall.

I had the same issue, but then changed all the settings to manually configured, and gave my PS2 a static ip address from my router, and forwarded a necessary port.
The port forward is probably all you need. This process depends on your router so I cant really help much, but try looking here:
