PS5 Controller Issue (Virtuared v8)

I’m running into an issue where I can’t play with my PS5 controller. I just installed the game today and it’s working perfectly otherwise.

My PS5 controller is recognized both wired and thru Bluetooth, via DSWindows. When I launch the game, the input from my controller during the Press any button title screen works.

However from then on, the controller is useless. If I load into a match using the keyboard and press a button on the controller, it just pauses it every time. Any ideas? Steam seems to perfectly recognize it, the game itself recognizes it initially…weird.
 
Nevermind I stumbled onto the answer in a random comment section. Looks like the controller needs to be set in the local settings in the original steam->common>PES2021 folder
