Some of these aren't even proper rivalries, Italy - Brazil? Since when were they proper rivals?
 
You are talking about "great matches", like Italy vs Brazil.

But there are no rivalries in such matches. They played histical matches but that has nothing to do with being rivals.

It is funny to see Argentina in three of the options (Brazil, Germany, England). But there isn't a big rivality involved in Argentina vs Germany. They are both big teams who respect each others and want to win, just like Brazil vs Italy.

So, Argentina vs Brazil and Argentina vs England are true rivalries. For the rest of the poll, other people here are more qualified to tell where they are rivalries or just classics, because they belong to these countries.

Thats a real rivalry. The England/Argentina one is a joke. Its only England that are bothered about Argentina. Argentina have better things to worry about.

Thats why they backed out of a friendly and got replaced with colombia, because if the manager lost to England and then Brazil then he would have been sacked, therefore the match must bother them a smidge :)

Agreed that the poll is very shit, China - Japan is a bigger rivalry than Germany - Argentina
 
England v Germany but why the hell no England Scotland 2 countries that share the same ruler but feel so diferent from the other its unreal!!!!!

Biggest one is probably Scotland and England. We can't stand them and they can't stand us and it's in everything, not just sport.
