What would you like in the next GTA game? Whether it's owt pointless or something that would redefine the whole concept. I've heard that a fair load of features were taken out of the final versions of GTA because the 360 couldn't handle them. Regardless of whether this is true, I'd still expect more intricate features next time around.

3 things that instantly come to mind is

- being able to buy homes and cars that you can customize / modify, as this could create a unique character that you could take online with a selected crib to start from in a Crib Warfare match (:DD) and a selected owned, modified car to use first, until wrecked.

- seeing a Council (or State) repairs team come out in a van to repair all the fences and lampposts you've crashed into and broken. Would be a nice touch and pretty funny seeing some chaps putting a fence back up, having a cuppa then getting back in a van blasting out music and wolf-whistling the women.

- more telephone and net usage. being able to create scenarios yourself, telling one mobster some information at your own leisure creating friction, or on the internet being able to buy furniture, order specialist weapons or even a Thai bride!

Well where to start with this.

GTA has never caught the feel of when your at the top you dont feel like you have any power whatsoever. You can go and kill people but you never get the feel like you made a reputation so to speak your not really feared by nobody although this does sometimes come across in cutscenes it dosnt seem to translate to game world. I mean take Vice City at end of that you were a made man so where all your henchmen to employ i liked in Scarface where you could employ them to protect buildings etc you own. It would be also cool if you could send them out to kill people let them do the dirty sometimes like a mission creator or something like that be pretty cool i mean it wouldnt be hard to do this really.

Like you i would like to see more elements of life going on now GTA IV has a lot of cool elements like roadworkers and people looking at cars and cars broken down etc. You can see they really made some big steps for this but like you it would be really cool to see stuff like courier delivery and hey even postman plus all the other stuff you see day to day life.

I would like to see more enterable buildings for start its nice no loading times but it would be double nice if there was more stuff to enter. The day that technology will allow for every building to be enterable and housing estates etc you see people living in them is like the day GTA will become truely awesome experience.

Also i think SWAT in game acts very poorly outside of missions they act as if they are just normal police. Now SWAT would never do this they work as as unit say you gone inside building they gas you out first and if dont respond they would then force entry from teamwork. Teamwork is non existent they wont huddle together they will just enter say you barricade yourself in hospital they all come through door one by one. Now this might be going over the top but the game bases itself on real life so game should be true to real life as possible so Police Units should act like it and should also be sniper units.

On Police note it would be good to see Police do vehicle checks also for stolen cars etc add another element to the game. Also be nice to see Ambulance actually take people away on stretcher etc instead of reviving someone on ground and they magically get back up.

Also how sad this sounds in game when you see copper chasing someone they arrest them put them in car. I followed the car for 20 mins with guy in back how hard would it of been to produce fully working police station and jail so this person could be dropped off. Nothing was happening just kept driving around constantly jeez if i was that geezer in backseat it be like we just going to sit here all day without nothing happening are you not suppose to take me somewhere. :LOL:

I got tons more and i will add them to the thread but thats it for now GTA good game but i really cant wait for technology to get better because will be looking back now and saying how so so poor GTA IV is in comparison.
 
I've always wanted more stuff that you can do yourself out of the missions mixed in with more of a strategic side

Like:

Being able to hire men to work for you at a price --- then taking them out on missions and giving them EXP - the more exp they have in shoot outs, cop chases etc the better they become on their own. The better they become the more money they want.

If you can't afford to keep them then they will go off into the city and work for your opponents.



Eventually you can order them to look after an area on the map - demand protection money from the businesses - take out opposing gangs/mafias/etc
and report any news to you.

From here you could also do activities like robbing a bank - you recruit your men as above - the better their exp the better the robbery would go - if they are shitty then they'll end up panicking and killing a hostage - they'll also be needed when the get away comes in (how good are they are shooting while in a car being driven around - can they drive well enough for you to go shotgun and shoot at the police?).


This would need the game having a change of the format - but i think it needs that anyway - everything in GTA IV has been done before - go and speak with someone, mission X, drive somewhere, kill someone... repeat until the game ends

I think they need to free the game up a bit and really give us a sandbox game where everyone can end up with completely different businesses - safe houses - gang members etc

It would still need to have a scripted story - but it wouldn't have to be as it is in past gta games where you work for someone until they have nothing left and then move to another person.

Maybe more like crackdown in some respect where you work on yourself and you work around the city until you do enough to open up the next mission - so maybe you get 20 missions where your on your own... then nothing until you've improved your gang then some more missions come in giving you exp and opening up new things to try out in free roam and upgrade your staff and repeat.

I don't know how you guys can make a wishlist already, like the game is utter crap. :lol: But I've always wanted to play a 3D GTA London. Perhaps they think The Getaway is good enough - but it's not Rockstar, it's not.
 
They won't do another GTA London because the Americans are always complaining they can't play the getaway because we drive on the wrong side of the road.

I think a tokyo game would be a logical next step but i fear they might just go back to vice city next, and then return to San Andreas for the 3rd.

Though i would adore another vice city era game - amazing soundtrack
 
By the way, where's all the drunken folk in GTA4? I mean, they didn't have us getting pissed in GTA:SA, but I'm sure you'd encounter the odd wobbling alco in the street. This time we can get sloshed - albeit in a rather instant way, it's like being 11 again and trying a can of Special Brew - but we don't actually see anyone else having a fucking good time. It would be great to see gangs of men, women and even chavs hanging about or walking down the street or crossing the road without looking.

I'd also love to have a bus driver mode, sad I know but I don't care. Missions like "Get Doris To The 4pm Bingo In Heavy Traffic".

There's no people in wheelchairs / mobility scooters too, and I'd love to see them in. I am a pretty warped person and wanting to see wheelchair races probably confirms that.

The above inclusions may sound pretty pointless, but I'd love them. Maybe one more serious addition would be the whole "wanted criminal" thing being changed. I want to commit a crime then if I go into hiding I can look on the net and see myself on Weazel News in CCTV footage or as an E-Fit picture. I can order disguises on the net and so on, different items off the net delivered to the door to help me out, maybe even some weapons (god I sound like a terrorist). They could track me down eventually and raid the place, but I could bust my way out with all the weapons bought! :D And if I'd decided to go out I could be spotted by a local officer, or random ped who called the cops and off I go "on the run". In the PS2 game Scarface I liked the idea of Cop Heat, and having something similar here would be great. A prolonged time of being on the run, hiding out and fleeing more chaos caused by the chase could be halted by a phone call to a good police contact, a meetup and then cash handed over or jobs done. Plastic surgery too? Wouldn't mind it/

I'm also missing how in areas of the city and suburbs in previous GTA games you'd get shot at or chased upon by those you've annoyed. Gangs who dislike you would open fire upon sight, and in GTA4 I've not seen anything like this at all. With better technology in future games, gangs could have varying levels of hate for you, and intention to maim you or your close friends. I'm talking about a sniper looking out for you arriving at a place, gangs arriving outside your safehouses waiting for you, defacing the place with graffiti when you ain't there.

So many ideas. It'd be wrong to criticise GTA4 much because it is a cracking game, probably the best I've ever played but there's imaginitive people out there like me who've had most likely had big ideas for this series since it went 3D and are still hoping for some of their dreamt-up features to be put in.

Seriously, I still remember his "hopes" for GTA IV last year. I still have nightmares.
 
It couldn't have been as bad as the weirdos on gamefaqs could it?

All i ever read over there is posts about how much they laughed when they killed their first hooker or how much fun it was to get the shotgun and then go around shooting people in the backs of their heads.

Then you get the want list which will always be full of 'i want the ability to piss on the people ive killed' 'i was to be able to rape people' 'i want to be able to go into a school with a bomb'

I don't get it - i have fun playing around in GTA... but maybe im too old to get the fun factor in mindlessly killing the peds in brutal ways - its like the people who play free roam... and it turns into deathmatch ... just go and play deathmatch
 
Lol, I think its to early for this thread to be made, There may not be another GTA on this sort of level again if EA buy it out. Yet i do think Vice City was a big leap from GTA3 so i will expect similar improvements like safe houses and buying cars etc.
 
more openess to your character ie if you dont want to be in a life o crime, become a police or detective and try to track down the gangs etc or have a normal life chillin and doing some small activitioes to help pay real life expenses such has food, rent, mortgage etc.

Also i would love if cars needed petrol to run them on
 
Yeah - stuff like that would ruin it for me.

I don't want to have to refil my car with petrol - it would make it really annoying.

I would like alot more places to wander around inside of. Also the things they had before of buying other buildings - businesses etc would be nice.
 
buying is the main thing

Houses, Business, Cars, Clothes and Phones

and the abilty to hire a gang or something
 
What I would like to see is that if you fail a mission, you don't get to try it again, and there be loads of possible endings.
 
Do you know what has always annoyed me slightly. When you play cop and do the police missions and your chasing down a few criminals. You catch and kill them all and then the cops come after you!!!! I wish the cops didn't react to you when your doing cop missions.
 
lol my point is your doing the cop mission. It's so annoying when your trying to kill a bunch of criminals in a car and the cops decide to join in and go after you. When your trying to do a cop mission! It makes it very difficult to do more than one cop mission at a time because your wanted level just goes up and up.

Haha, that would be quality. You could get treated to cut scenes of Vlad bumming Mallorie whilst Roman watched on CCTV whilst crying and thinking of a better life.

And as for my choice, GO TOKYO!!!! (best place in the world, I have met no equal for fantastic food)
 
I wouldn't mind them bringing the fun back into the game.

I also wouldn't mind having the vast expanse of wonderful, lush countryside from San Andreas again, though with waterfalls and wildlife and shiz, the city is too confined and completely drab/boring in IV.

Also sod the mobile phone, its terribly integrated.

I also want a character that has some personality instead of being completely devoid of anything resembling emotion.

And change the camera and aiming system, because theyre terrible in IV.

You'd really want some bender with a cockney accent saying "awight maaaate" all the time whilst killing Chavs driving around in Novas, or Saxos, or whatever?

GTA London would be bloody awful.
 
I want them to sort the behind the car cameras because im constantly having to nudge the right stick up a tiny amount to see over my car and see whats coming over the hill.

Fix the online so it works from day 1!

something to spend your cash on after you have finished the game! At the moment ive got sod all to buy apart from ammo and thats useless as i have no missions left

That almost happens on a lot of missions if you fail - you get a short cut scene of someone either telling you how crap you are or the aftermath of what you did

A good example is if you fail the chase with loansharks with roman early on --- i ended up flipping romans car over and we both had to bail out... then i had a cut scene come on of later that night which was awesome!

Also love that when you retry missions you get different chatter between you and anyone in your car.

An action replay feature and the ability to save clips and edit them later like in Halo 3.

I've had countless amazing moments that needed to be seen again and again
