How is it rubbish? It is used well with the story I think and it allows for useful special abilities for friends that without it would not be possible.

I would like some more difficult missions, better AI on missions (I had Packie run in front of a grenade I was about to throw, it hit him on the back of the head and blew us both up), a longer story, more enterable buildings, some sort of same-screen multiplayer, more weapons (silencers, for example) and more players allowed in a game for online matches.

Too much realism is a bad thing in a game like GTA, but I really don't want another VC or SA where you basically go from having nothing to owning the whole city.
CJ was a random gangsta who moved back to Los Santos just to find his mother's killer, and ended up managing a rapper, owning an airstrip, having a share in a Casino, being able to fly planes/helicopters (fighter jets too), steal something from Area 51, fly a jetpack, shoot guns like Rambo, run like an athlete etc all while possibly having green hair, a load of tattoos and wearing his underwear. That to me was just stupid and it felt like it was aimed at kids, even though it has an age rating of 18.

With Niko it's understandable that he can fly helicopters and use a gun well because he was in the army and in a war.
 
The phone only annoys me when you're on the run and some idiot phones you, so you end up getting shot as you hammer the button to hang up - for some reason our NB can drive and use his mobile but he can't run while using it
 
Its rubbish because the screen and text (even when on large) is too small, when I get a message or invite etc I have to get right up close to my TV just so I can read it.

It's a strange old game, GTA4, in terms of viewing pleasure. On my TV I had to turn the saturation up to full, brightness up 3 notches and only then has it looked perfect. Things are very clear, and I'm not HarD yet :)

Yeah, but in SA each of the three cities had it's own airport, so you can't just have a ticket going to San Andreas, it would have to be Los Santos, San Fierro or Las Venturas.

I would like an SA if they redid it, like they did with Liberty City. The one in GTA III bears very little resemblance to the one in IV, SA was a boring map I think apart from a few areas so a rehash of the old SA would not be that good I think, although I would probably still buy it.

I would like pedestrians not to drop things they are holding so easily, and if they do drop them then they should pick them back up. It's quite minor but I think it is silly how someone can be talking on their phone, you nudge them slightly, they drop their phone and call you an asshole, then just walk away like nothing happened, leaving their phone behind.

Also, all the items you can pick up have the same effect when they are thrown. Cigarettes, hot dogs, bottles, cans and phones can break windows and knock people over (killing them if you do it enough) in the same way a brick would. It's quite funny to throw a hot dog or cigarette at someone until they die, but it is so unrealistic.

Euphoria could be used better as well. A lot of the animations are still canned and it seems people are either in "euphoria mode" or "fight mode". For example, if you randomly go up and kick someone when they are by some stairs, they will fall down them, with euphoria taking effect, but if you punch them and start a fight, then try to kick them down the stairs, they will be able to balance on the steps without falling.
