Maybe it is just me....... but don`t you guys think that the fouls are like crazy ? I mean, u can like just stand near the guy with the ball and do a WEAK tackle and then the ref. blows his whistle. What do you guys think ?
 
Yeah, I agree, instead of blocking the player it's better to try to kick the ball away from his feet. But is true, there're a lot of whistle- happy refs in WE9!
 
Its much more realistic cuz you have to time the tackles and do them cleanly.
 
yer its extremely annoying.. Every time u even touch someone the ref blows up for a foul!!!!
 
Yes to many fouls. Thats exactly what I think is one big problem. And you have to realize that FKs are extremely powerfull. So all you have to do is just make some movement and wait for foul. Distance from 16 to 30 meters with good FK taker is 90% goal. I scored in 4 matches 7 goals with Ronaldinho. His rating is 78. I mean FK of course. Its really annoying.
 
do you get more cards now for pulling, that would be nice. Because pulling a striker that goes 1on1 is red in real life. But in previous versions you would never get one :)
 
If they gave a red for pulling the last defender in WE9 I would finish a game with about 8 players on the pitch, simply because it happens so much.

Fouls are happening far too much, and like hell it is realistic, completely destroys the game. But it is just luck I think, some games I play the ref doesnt blow a foul for much, yet some games he blows it for the slighest touch, and the ref is the exact same all the time.
 
i havent pld we9 so i cant really judge. But in pes4 i hardly made any fouls for pulling or slide tackles. Maybe 2-3 a matchs at max. So it all comes to good defending and knowing what you do. But again i cant judge about we9.
 
Well in WE9 I can sometimes get about 15 fouls give or take. I dont really put it down to good/bad defending, I mean what can I do when I walk into the CPU player and it is a FK?

Even when you win the ball it gives a FK sometimes, even when you run side-by-side a CPU player to see who gets the ball first, the second you get in-front of him the ref gives a foul.

The game is that bad I often get a foul against me when I HAVE THE BALL, whether that is the cheating AI or a bug I dont know, but all I do know is the fouling in the game is retarded and far from being realistic.
 
I only get like 5 yellow cards every ML season.... Been like this for all the versions ive played though..... no complaints about fouls for me......
 
I get maybe only 3, 4 fouls by games...

you should try to don't charge anymore like a furious bull, pressing :square: and :x: like everybody did in pes4...
 
I rarely ever get a yellow card unless I do it on purpose.

To win the ball I just press X or slide at their feet, how else can I win the ball? I have tried going in-front of them and doing the R2 thing, but they walk into me, fall down and get a FK?

It is like I have a 40% chance of winning the ball instead of it being 50-50.

But as I said it is just the game, some games I have 15+ fouls some I have about 2, same ref and everything.
 
i think the fouls are great. now you have to close the gaps and intercept passes more, and less running like a fool after the players :)
much more interesting to defend, with more control. cause if it comes to it, you can trip/tackle the opponent with X pretty easily.
 
I don't mind the whistle-blowing... I just wished some of the calls went my way once in a while... I'd get taken down twice in one possession, but no call... plus on break-aways, I'd often get obstructed, but again no call... ~_~
 
I started WE9 with about 20 fouls per match, now it's about 5 per match... it's just practice... seriously, and you can't hold down X anymore... this game is even more subtle now...
 
The amount of fouls is silly sometimes. I think it would be better if different referees were more lenient than others.

Yeh it's good that they've made people try to learn how to defend properly. For too many years now Winning Eleven and especially PES has been trying to accommodate too many noobs and making things easier when they should be getting more complex. Only thing wrong with your mates fouling you all the time is there's no real advantage for you. Need to have the option of quick free kicks like ISS64/2000 instead of the screen slowly fading black and then camera going behind the guy ready to take the free kick. Need more cards too.
 
def agree with the too many fouls talk.. i cant go through a single game vs the cpu without at least 10 fouls and it holds up the play
 
I like the fouls. I adjusted and I don't get too many fouls called against me. I would like to see more cards though. I hardly ever see thoughs. And too me there is a little hint of a quick freekick. When the screen fades to black most of the time when it comes back your guys are in the same postition. You just have to take the freekick then.

basically, f*ck off Shiteabass, you slit-eyed twa*t, because we're not all 6-year-old dumbass fanboys, and can see how poor you "tactics" are...go and write so gameplay, then get back to us for judgement

the overall gameplay is basically a script....this game has about 65% gameplay, in other words, fu.cking shi.te

calling people "slit-eyed" is pretty racist, and tells me more about your lack of intelligence than that of the developer. Please restrain your rants to a more civilised level... can't believe we still get these types of posts...
 
tbh I haven't noticed an excessive amount of fouls when I play. Maybe it's because I mostly do friendlies and use the most lenient ref, Johann Weikath.
 
Too many Fouls in the game, and less yellow and red cards. Even after getting used to it, I think Fouls are a bit too much in the game and sometimes it gets silly sometimes that you can't understand especially when it happens in your penality area! Now, I avoid hitting x completely in the area, and I just let my defender escort the forward.
I noticed the advantage rule has some bugs as well.

Play the ML, then you will be shocked.

All I do is friendlies also and some games it is alot worse than the previous.
 
I find it very hard to play against other people in WE9 due to the constant fouling. Whenever I'm through or on my opponents half I get fouled by them tripping or shoving my player over. I'd be fine with this if they got booked, but seeing as they don't it gets on my nerves. Not to mention the advantage rule, which was perfect in WE8:LE, is now total garbage. The fluidity and tempo of the games are non-existant because there's fouls blown every 2 minute. It's still the best WE yet though, if they'd tweak things like these one could only imagine what we'd have :)
