What are my options (yearning for old PES)

Hi all, long time lurker.

I like many 30+ chaps out there miss the golden age of PES badly. I gave it up around PES 2009/10 when it just felt horrific to play on PS3. Around ten years ago I bought an old PS2 + PES 5 and had loads of fun again.

I'm looking to find something that plays like the golden era, with the option to use updated squads/stadiums etc.

What would be the best options out there? I don't own any consoles now. I want the enjoyable feeling play PES I had around 02-07.
